Moving My Focus Away From Substack

I am putting my Substack on hiatus to focus fully on my YouTube channel. Monthly paid subscriptions will be stopped.

I have decided to pause my Kevin The Tech Guy Substack for the foreseeable future, meaning no new content will be posted here, except to essentially act as a landing page. This represents a significant shift in how I intend to manage things going forward.

Subscriber numbers haven’t grown the way I expected since I started this experiment last year, and at this stage, it makes more sense to focus on my YouTube channel, where there’s more interest.

Why I’m Pausing the Substack

Writing and maintaining the Substack has taken a lot of time and energy, and while I’ve enjoyed creating detailed how-to posts and tech explainers, most of my audience prefers watching those same topics in action. YouTube allows me to show every step directly on screen, which makes the content more practical and immediate for regular users.

As a result of this change, all monthly paid subscriptions will be terminated. If you’ve been supporting me financially on Substack, I want to thank you sincerely. Your support helped me create the written guides and Quick Picks that many have found useful.

What This Means Going Forward

I’ll continue to post all my tech content on YouTube, focusing on the same kind of useful, no-nonsense videos that help people clean up their systems, fix common issues, and understand what’s safe to uninstall or tweak, among other topics.

I may return to Substack in the future if it feels like the right fit again, possibly with a more focused newsletter or as a companion to my YouTube content. But for now, this Substack is officially on hiatus.
